Sweet Rosie

Isn't Rosie just adorable? She is a freebie at Mami Doodles and i decided to use her for their challenge here http://mamidoodles.blogspot.com/2011/02/challenge-21.html .

She was coloured with pro markers and some clear glitter glue, and is sitting of a piece of gorgeous green ribbon. The backing paper is some I've had for years and it has all different sorts of pale green lines on it. The sentiment is a clear stamp that was in a freebie set from a mag and i coloured white card candy to match Rosie's dress. Its quite a simple card, but i didn't want to over-do it and to hide gorgeous Rosie

Friday Sketchers Challenge Card

This is my card for the challenge here http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/2011/02/sketch-143-sponsored-by-tickled-pink.html

I used a lovely paper from The English Paper Company, ribbon from my stash, a piece of pink card i got in a bargain pack from The Works. The image was given to me by a good friend on DC and i coloured it with pro markers.
I love the way all the colours have come together and i am very pleased with this card.

Mild Green Fairy.........Knoll

The challenge here http://funatfairyknoll.blogspot.com/2011/02/feeling-little-green.html at Fairy Knoll this week is GREEN. As soon as i saw it i knew which fab Fairy Knoll image i was going to use.

I just love the cute little fairy finding shelter under the huge toadstool. I coloured the digi with pro markers and added clear glitter glue to the fairy's wings and clear square sequins to the toadstool. The backing paper is from my stash and the lilac ribbon is from Hobbycraft. I used a lilac peel-off greeting.

New Baby Boy

My cousin is expecting a baby boy next month, so i decided to use the sketch challenge at http://tuesdaymorningsketches.blogspot.com/2011/02/tuesday-morning-sketches-82.html  to make her a card.

I embossed little circles onto blue card, and used a pales blue paper with little flowers printed on it. i edged the paper with a dark blue promarker. The cute little bear was a stamp given to me by a friend and he is coloured with promarkers and mounted on a dark blue linen look paper cut into a scalloped circle. I used a gorgeous thin blue gingham ribbon i received in a goody bag swap, some blue gems and a peel off sentiment.

A Colour Challenge

At http://stampfairychallenge.blogspot.com/2011/02/color-throw-down-challenge-11.html  this week its a colour challenge, and the colours are Red, White and Turquoise. I just love the little Stamp Fairy aliens and decided i had to use one for this card.

I coloured the little chap, some different shaped circles and some card candy in with pro markers. Punched some little swirls from white paper. The stamp is backed with a piece of card coloured with pro markers in blotches.
I loved making this card, with the bright jolly colours.

Kate xxx

Diamonds & Pearls

is the theme for the challenge at http://pollycraftchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2011/02/challenge-81-diamonds-and-pearls-marit.html . So i decided to go for shoes, as they are another must have for us women.

The shoes are a digi, coloured with pro markers and a lovely pearl bead. The backing paper was an old freebie from a mad and turquoise silky tissue paper. Of course this card had to have LOADS of bling in the form of clear gems. The sentiment is a little foam stamp i got in a pack for 99p from Hobbycraft, and stamped onto orange card as, although its hard to tell here, the pink paper has an orange patternt on it.
This will probably end up going to one of my female cousins, who all love bling.

Kate xxx

I Love Sketches

They take a lot of the thinking out of making a card, well for me they do, and the sketch for the challenge here http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/2011/02/sketch-142-sponsored-by-pink-cat-studio.html this week was lovely.

I found the gorgeous black & white floral paper while i was looking for another paper and decided to use it for this challenge. I also used a black polka dot paper, a glossy black card and plain white card. The floral stamp was given to me and the setiment stamp was in a set free on a mag. The flowers were coloured with pro markers as i have no black flowers at the mo and blinged up with clear gems. Black ribbon from my stash and gorgeous shiney card candy.
Off to upload more cards, Kate xxx

Love You

That's the theme for the challenge this week at http://justmagnolia.blogspot.com/2011/02/week-94-love-you.html , so i thought about the gorgeous Tilda and Edwin and decided to make my mums mothers day card from my kids.

This is only my 2nd attempt at a stepper card, and I'm very pleased with it. Of course Edwin had to be in blue as Thommas, my son, loves his jeans and Tilda is wearing Ashleigh, my daughter, fave colour. They are both coloured with pro markers. I used a border punch to make a nice feature of the bottom of the step and on the edges of the card where the sentiment peel offs are. The colours in the blue spotty backing paper co-ordinated with the colours i wanted to use and i think make it look fun. I finished it off with s strip of thin ribbon in purple and blue.
I hope my mum likes it

YAY I Love Sketches

And this challenge is a sketch http://doitwithdigis.blogspot.com/2011/02/challenge-4-sketch.html , and a digi of course.
Here's my card

Sorry the piccy is a bit blurry. I used a gorgeous little girl digi and some fab new ribbon i brought, then co-ordinated the colours of the papers and pro markers used with the ribbon. A few gems to add some bling and a little purple flower to match the purple flowered paper strip, of and i embossed the cream card with some flowers too.
Hope you like it

EWWWWW A Male Card

That was my 1st thought when i saw this challenge http://craftycatzweeklychallenge.blogspot.com/2011/02/challenge-70-one-for-men.html  but I'm nothing if not persistent, so decided to give it a go.

The stamp was another great buy from Pondskipper Crafts for 25p coloured with pro markers. The paper was a 12" long strip which i cut and stuck at the top and bottom of the card, only to find myself left with a gap in the middle, so i cut a strip of paper 3 squares wide and stuck it in the gap. I used different sized buttons of matching colours and as the stamp's sentiment looked like it was hand written i wrote the other sentiment on card coloured with pro marker and backed with brown card.
Hey mens cards are easy peasy :D

Dotty Birthday

Great challenge here this week http://doyoustackup.blogspot.com/2011/02/dysu-challenge-7-dots.html , its DOTS. You could used anything dotty or even make them yourself. Here's my card

I found this paper while looking for something else, and loved it. The flower was made by me after a lovely friend on DoCrafts sent me some circles and a card so i could play at making my own flowers. i inked the edges of some pale pinky peach patterned paper with an ink pan after i had cut all the scalloped circles out, by hand.I used the same ink pad to colour the backing card behind the greeting and stamped the greeting onto the same paper as the flower.I finished off with  fab card candy in bright co-ordinating colours in the corners and for the flower middle.
I love this card, it feels really fresh.
Kate xxx

Happy Birthday

Is the theme of the challenge here this week http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.com/2011/02/challenge-46-and-new-release.html and your card had to have a sentiment too.
So here's mine

I seem to be going through a flutterby and fairy stage, although she looks more like a pixie or elf to me, but whatever she is she is cute. I used lime green linen effect card and pale purple shiny paper, some fab blue glittery ribbon, and a few gems. Everything coloured with pro markers and OK LOTS of glitter used, but she was just crying out to be glitterfied.

Kate xxx

Pretty Pink Flutterby

I wanted to try embossing a square with my chrimbo pressie as ive not used it much, so i thought i would have a play around. After i had managed to do this i found a little flutterby stamp i picked up for 25p at Pondskipper Crafts and coloured her with pro marker. Keeping everything square i used a white square card and a simple sentiment so as not to make it too fussy.
Hope you like it
Kate xxx

Special Birthday

Nope its not my 21st,in fact I don't think I know anyone who's going to be 21. But that's what I had to make for the challenge here http://pollycraftchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2011/02/challenge-80-special-birthdays.html . So I made a male 21st card as I'm sure someone will be needing one sooner of later.
I am loving making easel cards at the mo and thought that the black 21 I had looked good with the colours of spots on this fab paper. The bottom is a tan tissue paper with black and blue linen effect card, gold brads and peel off.
Very grown up I think

OMG I Nearly Forgot

I made this card a couple of days after the image was put on the blog for the challenge at  http://fairydoodler-fairydoodlersden.blogspot.com/p/fairydoodlers-friday-freebie-challenge.html  and forgot to blog about it !!!!!! How lucky am i that ive just decided to have a lookie at all the updates in blog land and saw a post about the challenge closing in a short while.
Anyway heres my card

I used a textured white backing paper and embossed teeny flowers onto some maroon coloured card to mount the gorgeous butterfly fairy onto. I coloured her with pro markers and added little touches of glitter on her wings. The sentiment was a free digi, and i backed it with deep orange card. I finished the card off with butterflies punched from the maroon card and glittered them.

Glad i saw the post and have managed to get my card into this challenge in time, Kate xxx

Yummy Scrummy Cupcakes

Hi all, hope you are all well. Its freezing here again today but I've been busy with my papers and glue all day so it hasn't bothered me.
Here's my entry for the 'Lovin' from the Oven' challenge at http://stamptacularsundaychallenge.blogspot.com/2011/02/challenge-98-lovin-from-oven.html . It has to be something food related, and what better food is there than cupcakes :D .
i got eh bright papers yesterday from the kids section in Tesco, they accidentally slipped into my basket. The large cupcake stamp was a bargain from Hobbycraft at their 1st birthday celebrations last weekend, and the smaller ones were a mag freebie a little while ago. I used textured matt black card to back them onto as i thought it would make the colours stand out nicely, and a few neon bright gems to add a bit of bling.

Hope you like it and it doesn't make you hungry, Kate xxx

Pretty In Pink

Thats the name of this weeks Penny Black Challenge, found here http://pennybfriendssaturdaychallenge.blogspot.com/ . I wanted to do a different kind of pink to what I normally do, so decided to use some dusky shades.

I just love this little hedge hog and lady bug stamp, they were coloured with pro markers and some really light coloured pencils just to give the background a touch of colour. I cut the stamped image into a different shape and made a bigger version to matt it onto that I coloured again with pro marker. The backing paper was some from my stash and I embossed a few random flowers onto a piece of pink card stock. I used a  simple birthday sentiment stamp on a darker pink card and double layer pink flowers with added glitter stuck at angles and some teeny dark pink glittered circles finish the card.

I hope you like it, Kate xxx

Less Is More Challenge

The challenge, which can be found here http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2011/02/week-2-one-layer-challenge.html , on Less is More for week 2 is a '1 Layer Card'. EEK i thought as I'm always nervous stamping directly onto my cards in case i make a mistake, but i had a go anyway.

I also normally only stamp in black but decided to give it a go stamping in different colours. Not a bad result but not perfect. I added a bit of colour to the image with pro markers and a teeny bit of glitter. A simple sentiment, not perfectly straight but its OK for a 1st attempt I think.

Flower Card

Hi, and Happy Valentines Day to you all. I'm in the middle of cooking a nice dinner for Steve and me, the kids have already been fed and packed off upstairs to amuse themselves in their rooms, I'm such an evil mummy, but that's where they spend all their time anyway.

This card i made for the challenge at http://mamidoodles.blogspot.com/2011/02/challenge-20-flower-card.html which was to make a flower card. So i thought i would make my own flower similar to the one in Simply Cards and Papercraft, and I'm very pleased with the result.

I started off by cutting 6 scalloped circles from double sided card, edged each one with a pink pro marker and folded them into cones. Then i stuck each one, slightly overlapping each other, onto a circle of basic card stock, and glued a button to the centre before covering it in clear glitter glue. Then i cut some holly leaves that i got from an old Christmas wreath and rounded them off, and glittered theses too. I used some blue textured mulberry paper to be my backing paper and a simple birthday greeting from peel-offs. Then i stuck the leave on and the flower with foam pads to raise it up slightly.

Simple but nice i think, Kate xxx

mmmmmmmmm Cupcakes

I am just loving all the cupcake themed things around at the moment, they are soooo cute, pity you cant eat them tho. Cupcakes inspired my card for the challenge at http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/2011/02/sketch-141-sponsored-by-7-kids-college_11.html .

The backing paper i found in a huge pile I've had for ages. The circle is a lilac shiny textured paper. I made the dark purple paper 'ribbon' buy drawing round the top of my glue stick to make a scalloped edge, cut it out and used a hole punch to make the detail. 3 mini cupcake stamps coloured with pro markers and then i edged the card they are printed on with 2 different coloured pro markers (it looks better in real life). The sentiment was another small stamp which i stamped onto white card i had coloured with pro marker, and the small flowers were punched from the papers used and card coloured with the same colours as the cupcakes.
Yummy Yummy, Kate xxx

I WON

Well what a great day, not only is the sun shining (yes OK its still a bit chilly, but at least its not drab) but the postie lady has just brought me more than bills. I have won a beautiful set of Forever Friends Alphabet Clear Stamps from a comp in the Do Crafts magazine. Its a full set of upper and lower case letters and they are so pretty, I'm over the moon as its the 1st time I've ever won anything from entering a comp in a mag or online.

Some New Cards

Hi everyone, hope you are all well and that the dreary weather isn't getting you down. Ive spent a lot of time in my craft cupboard lately so have some new cards to share with you.

I just love black & red together, this was made for a challenge on DC

This was also a DC challenge card using a free digi

This was for a Forever Friends challenge and was for my son's birthday

These 2 were made using the free stamps from Simply Cards & Papercraft

This one was for my kids grandads birthday, he loves football and the odd pint or two

 Another DC challenge card

I just love the Penny Black hedgehogs, or hedgie pigs as we call them

Another DC challenge card using a lot of elements from their yellow goody bag

A simple thank you card with me trying to get to grips with my chrissie pressie of embossing boards, which i have to use by hand as i don't have a machine yet.

Well i have a blog challenge card to finish, but its a bit late now, so think i will go snuggle up in bed with my furbies Byron & Lilli, a mug of Horlicks and maybe watch a film, night all

Under The Weather ?

When i saw the challenge at http://pinkgemchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2011/02/challenge-14-and-blog-hop.html i couldnt wait to use one of my pink gem stamps, and decided to make a get well card, seeing as i only have 1 in my stash.

I thought this little cutie was just the job for a 'Under The Weather?' card. I embossed some circles onto a piece of pink card (by hand as i dont have a clever machine yet) and punched some 'raindrops' from a semi circle of a darker pink card. The backing paper is from a pack called 'Siesta Berry' by The English Paper Company. as usual i coloured the image with pro markers ans added white glitter to the puddle and tiny splashes. 3 darker red card candy fished off the card.

Kate xxx

Monster Love

Ergh what a horrible day we are having here today. Its been spitting with rain all day and its cold and dark and drab. Hope that spring hurries up and gets here, we have a few snowdrops out in the garden but everywhere is just looking so down.

Here's a nice bright card to bring a bit of cheeriness, its my challenge card for http://pollycraftchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2011/02/challenge-79-sketch-by-maria-and-love.html and i used the fab freebie 'I Only Have Eyes For You'.

The backing paper i found and had forgotten about, the love monster was coloured with my trusty pro markers, and some red glitter on his balloon. I printed the image out twice and layered an extra head and balloon to give him a bit of depth. The image is matted onto white mulberry paper and red card stock, a bit or ruffled red lace and red & black card candy completed the card.
I hope he brings a smile to your face

CAS

I love the look of CAS cards and when i came across this i had to have a go. The 1st challenge at http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2011/02/week-1-colour-challenge-pink-black-and.html was to make a CAS card using only pink, black & white.
So here's my attempt
I used a pale pink card and embossed a flower onto white pearlised paper then cut it out, curled the edges under and attached with a foam pad. I used a black card candy on a foam pad for the middle of the flower. Thin black ribbon and a simple 'Just For You' sentiment was all it took to finish the card.
I hope you like it
Kate xxx

Tangy Tartan

This is my card for the challenge at http://craftycatzweeklychallenge.blogspot.com/2011/02/challenge-68-tartanplaid.html where you had to use tartan or plaid.

I started off sitting down with some purple plaid ribbon, then i found this bright orange tartan paper and decided to use it instead. I'm glad i did as once I'd found the paper all the other bits just fell into place easily. I started off by covering a small square card with mottled cream paper. I used some metallic copper ribbon and teeny tiny brads, the flowers are once again from the dismantled Christmas wreath and a bit of card candy coloured with pro marker. To give it a bit of umph as its quite a small card i stuck the tartan paper onto the card with foam pads so it had some depth.
Even though its quite simple i really enjoyed making it and am very pleased with the result
Kate xxx

Mothers Day Card

I thought i would have another go at making an easel card, only done 2 before, and decided to try and make one for my mum for mothers day. As there is a challenge on DoCrafts to use blue flowers and mums fave colour is blue i thought i would kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Of course the cute Tilda had to feature.
I used some blue mothers day paper, 2 different types of flowers, clear gems in 3 sizes and pro markers to colour Tilda in and clear glitter glue on her wings.
Hope you like it

Pretty Pastel Tilda

Hi all, its been a while since my last post as things have been very busy here.
Ive managed to make a card that combines 2 challenges in 1 card for the 1st time, very happy. It is for the challenge at http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/2011/02/sketch-140-sponsored-by-stempel.html and http://justmagnolia.blogspot.com/2011/02/week-92-special-monthly-challenge-with.html .
I found some lovely pastel yellow paper with little stars and hearts on that i had forgotten about and used it for the base of this card. I had some die cut triangles that i got in a bag full of die cuts at the Christmas fair so i just cut them down to size and punched a small heart in them. The circle is a lemon angel hair paper and of course i had to use a Tilda, she sooooo gorgeous. She is coloured with pro markers in buttercup and cornflower blue to match the papers. I then cut some different sized hearts from pink & blue patterned off cuts i had and added some creamy coloured lace.

I hope you like it
