Day of The Dead

Hi Bloggers

Something a bit different from me today as it's my first inspiration post for SLSLines

I used the great 'Day of the Dead Calavera Girl' image, which you can find here, and coloured her with ProMarkers. I wanted her to be stunning so kept to grey tones and vivid red hair, lips & eyes. She is the main feature on a page in one of my Smash! books and I added a brief description, key words, a blinged out skull & tag pocket.
You will find lots of fabulous images like this in the SLSLines Etsy store here and find the challenges, new release news and more inspiration posts on the blog here

New Release from SLSLines

Hi Bloggers

Today I am sharing one of the great New Release images from

I was lucky enough to be able to play with the image

Day of the Dead Sugar Skull 3

I love the whole Sugar Skull trend and wanted to make something for me with this image, so I decided to use it on a page in my Doodle Smash! Book. I've not smashed for well over a year but I really enjoyed doing this page
I coloured the fab image in 3 different colourways so I could decide which one I wanted to use ............ and ended up using all 3 :)

I coloured them all with my ProMarkers and stuck them to torn pieces of papers from my offcuts draw. While I was colouring them I thought that a sugar skull would be the perfect thing to cover an old tattoo of mine and decided to have a go at drawing my own

I had so many ideas that I decided I should really do some research about them. I am going to have another go at designing my own to celebrate my nan, who we lost 14years ago, and as she loved nothing more than to be in the garden there will be no trouble having lots of flowers, leaves and curly tendrils on my skull
So back to my project. I wanted my page to be kinda interactive so quite simply attached my skulls with washi tape so the images flipped open to reveal my own attempt underneath

I hope you like my take on this fab new digi image, and don't forget to head over to the main blog where you will find all the other DT members great makes with all the New Release images

Tra La La

Hello Bloggers

It's time for a new challenge at All Dressed Up and I used the gorgeous cute

Isn't that just the cutest image :)
I coloured with ProMarkers and then coloured the robins scarves, cats scarf and hat, mouse's scarf and the bunnies ear muffs again and layered them on top of the flat image. The backing papers are from my stash and I went with a kraft card base again as it's very on trend wight now and I think it works well with pastel colours. I added a wooden snowflake, die cut snowflakes and some flat back gems to finish the card

I can't wait to see all your fab entries into our challenge and don't forget to share your makes in our FaceBook group here where we also have themed challenges

New Release from All Dressed Up

Hello Blog Friends

I am sharing my make with one of the fabulous New Release images from All Dressed Up

Isn't he just so cute!
I coloured Dino with ProMarkers and added glossy accents to his nostrils, scales and feet and mounted him on foam pads. All the papers are a mixture from my stash and I cut the grass & sentiment from the same papers. To finish off I added 4 small home made enamel dots.
I'm really pleased with my card as I usually struggle making male cards but with this cute image there was no struggle at all

You can find Dino and all of the great All Dressed Up digital images here, find out all the latest gossip & enter the latest Facebook Challenge in the fan group here and enter the Blog Challenge & see all the inspiration posts here

BOO!!!

Hi Bloggers
I am sooooooo excited to be sharing my first DT project for SLSLines
and my first make is for
Challenge #14 - BOO

I had so much fun making this card as I played with my Brusho's to make the background, which I mounted onto black card, and I love them :)
I coloured the fab 'Pumpkin Patch' image with my ProMarkers and added glossy accents to their eyes and teeth. I mounted them with foam pads for more depth and added the sentiment, which is from an alphabet stamp set that I stamped and fussy cut, and orange gems just to finish the card off
I don't normally make Halloween things as my children are grown up and we don't celebrate it but my gorgeous little man Aston, my 6yr old cousin, always dresses up and has a party so I wanted to make him a special card

I hope all my bloggy friends will join in this challenge and I look forward to seeing all your fabulous entries

ChalkOla Markers

Hi Bloggers

I'm here with a different sort of post, I was contacted last week and asked if I would trial and review some chalk markers
They are made by ChalkOla and you can find them here on Amazon

I decided to make a little tea light holder for Christmas so I started off with a small jam jar and the markers
They are really easy to use, you shake for about 30 seconds before use then press the nib up and down on a piece of paper to get the ink into the nib, then its just like using a normal marker pen

I drew swirls & dots on the jar and lines down the tea light container and left the to dry. Drying took 5-10 minutes depending on how thick you have drawn

After wrapping ribbon round the top and fixing a big bow on, I coloured a cream button with the red chalk marker and added glitter once it was dry then stuck it to the bow centre

I really like these markers and will be using them on a lot more projects. I also need to say that when I was pumping to get the ink into the nib I placed a piece of 120gsm card under the nib. The pens say to use on non porous surfaces but the chalk on the card didn't soak through to the back and dried perfect

Well worth a try on lots of projects

Kraft with Karleigh Sue

Hi Bloggers
Its time for our next Team A challenge at Karleigh Sue and this time is a favourite of mine

KRAFT

I used the fabulous festive Holiday Greetings for my make this time

I coloured her with my ProMarkers, layering up 2 layers on her hat and the bow and added chunky glitter and a little cotton wool to the fur on her hat. I wanted to keep my card quite CAS so just added a sentiment cut with a freebie die from a recent craft mag, which I shadowed, some pressies I fussy cut from a sheet of background paper, 2 thin strips of red snowflake paper and some garnet Liquid Pearls

I hope you like her and come along and join in with our Kraft Challenge here

Hi

Hi Bloggers

I thought I would share a little card I made a while ago using a cute little Karleigh Sue digi called Russell, it seems to fit with the colours around at the moment

I used a 4x4" scalloped card base and some embossed paper from my stash. I coloured Russell with my ProMarkers and added a leaf stem die cut and the 'Hi' greeting is on cork alpha tiles

Just a quick little make from me suitable for the Autumn season
