I've been wanting to post about this for a week now, and can finally do it. I am a new DT member at Stamp 'n' Doodles :D I have been soooooo excited about doing my 1st project as a DT member, and here it is
Isn't it a fab image, i really enjoyed playing with it, as i rarely do masculine cards, and this times challenge is to make a masculine card. i decided i wanted to figure to be the main focus, so made him the only coloured part of the card and decoupaged him on the bottom image. I used up lots of scraps of papers i had in tones of silver & grey. the sentiment is a peel off that i coloured with a black pro marker.
I hope you will all come and join us in out masculine challenge

The challenge this week at Passion For Promarkers is 'White on White'. So everything has to be white except you image.
I started with a square white card, then cut a scalloped circle from white card and embossed it with tiny flowers and stuck this flat to the white card. I used 2 types of ribbon, a thicker white satin ribbon to go across the card and make the bow (from the ribbon stall on my local market) and a strip of thinner glittery ribbon (from The Works) across the middle.
The cute little girl image is one of my new stamps, she is from Hero Arts Sparkle Clear collection and is called Your The Best, i coloured her with pro markers, and wated to keep her soft and pastel. the flower is from Craftwork cards and i shaped it slightly, and added a flat backed pearl for the centre. i also used flat backed pearl shapes in the 2 corners, they were all on a big strip from The Works for £1. The sentiment is from a mag freebie stamp set.
I was a bit worried that this would look too plain being mostly white, but i really like it, and will definately do more along these lines.

I thought it was about time i gave those of you that want them a couple more freebie sentiments.
Please take them if you want to but please do not share them, if you know anyone that would like them then please direct them to my blog where they can get them for themselves.
thankyou, Kate xxx
should never be seen! well that's an old saying i remember my nan saying, but i think the 2 colours look quite nice together.
Isn't this little girl digi just too cute :D I think she is trying to be a tomboy, with her boots, jeans and stripey top on, but she still has lovely bows in her hair and a frill on the bottom of her top.
I coloured her with pro markers and mounted her onto a strip of blue dotty paper i had in my stash. I covered an oblong card with a green dotty paper i got in a goody bag swap on DC and stuck the blur paper & little girl 1cm in from the creased edge of the card. I then found some card candy in blue & green and stuck these on with tiny foam pads along the top and bottom edges, and the sentiment is one i found in a drawer.
I think she looks rather cool in her blue's & green's.

Hello all, hope you have had a fabby day today, i know i have and i cant believe my luck at the mo. Not only have i won 1st place on 2 challenge blog in the past 2 weeks, but today i found out i got 1st place at another challenge blog, Tuesday Morning Sketchers AND i won my 1st blog candy, from a lovely lady Aggieboo on DC. I knw i should of done the lottery this weekend :D
Ok so onto the not so great part of my day. there's a challenge blog out there that has really been testing me since it started, but ive not missed a challenge yet. So when they posted this weeks challenge as being ACETATE well my chin hit the floor and i felt like crying. I had no idea what to do with acetate or even if i possessed any!!!!!!
Well thanks to some great friends on DC, i dont know where i would be without those folks, i managed to find some and had a few ideas of what to do with it, other than hide it back in a draw again.
This is the result of a couple of my hours today
I made a great start by embossing my bit of acetate, and it looked good. So next step, what the heck was i going to do with a pretty bit of acetate???? I decided that i liked the look of it plain, so didnt colour it and cut a strip of it, backed it with white card and then backed that with a thicker strip of black linen effect card. Ok so far so good. Now it looked nice but a bit plain, so added 3 red gems, nice with a touch of sparkle, but still not quite right, so added a bit of red ribbon top and bottom, perfect.
I mounted the whole thing onto a square white card and added a simple sentiment i found lurking in one of my drawers.
Not a bad 1st attempt at acetate even if i do say so myself, but PLEASE no more acetate challenges anyone :D

OK hands up who's singing the Christmas song???? :D
Well its not a Christmas donkey, but a cute Meljens one, god these digi's are just so cute.
I started off by embossing just over half way on a square white card with an embossing folder which is all twirls and stars. i then used my swirly punch to go down one side of a grey checked backing paper and stuck this to the blank side of the card.Nest i drew round a heart template i have onto pink kind of patchwork paper and stuck this to the card with thin foam pads.
The cute donkey was coloured with pro markers, and mounted onto slightly thicker foam pads, the sentiment is one i had floating about in my stash and the little bow i made with a tiny scrap of pale pink ribbon.
I love this card, because of the little donkey and i have a thing for those cute creatures.

Happy Friday fellow bloggers, i bet we are all looking forward to the weekend. I am because it means my Thommas will be home from his holiday on Monday :D i cant wait to see him.
Anyway on with my card.
The challenge at Passion For Promarkers this week is to make your own embellies, you can find it here . This is the 1st time i have entered a challenge on this blog, I'm so enjoying all these new challenges and finding all the wonderful blogs out there.
The flower is a digi image, sorry i cant remember where it comes from, i really must start saving them with where they come from. The purple one is coloured with Lilac, Lavender & Amethyst Promarkers. The yellow one with Vanilla, Pastel Yellow & Mustard and the blue flower with Pastel Blue, Blue Pearl & Cornflower. I am very happy with how they turned out and think i must be starting to get the hang of using my pro markers correctly.
Now the embellies that i made are the super sparkly butterflies, or flutterbies as they are called in my house. I started off by doing a quick doodle of a butterfly shape, then refined it a bit, cut 3 out of medium thick white card and set to with the pva and glitter.I left them to totally dry overnight and then added some flat backed pearls for the bodies.
I used a cream textured dl card and added a 3cm wide strip of pastel striped paper from my stash across the middle, stuck the flowers on with foam pads and added the sentiment which is from a freebie magazine set. I didn't want the butterflies to be flat so i slightly bend their wings up and stuck them to the card at a tilt with super fast tacky glue.
I am really happy with this card, and don't really know why as it looks quite plain and simple, but i really like it.

I love the simplicity of this digi, and wanted to keep the colours fairly subtle. I coloured it with pro markers, then mounted the image onto a dusky plum coloured linen effect paper. I used a scrap of green lined paper that was a old mag freebie and stuck that flat to the card. The cream ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons and was in one of their value bags, they are great. The top piece is single and the bottom piece is folded over at an angle. I then stuck the image on top of the ribbon with thin foam pads.

Isn't this bear so cute :D its s freebie at DZ Doodles
I started off by colouring the cutie pie with pro markers in various shades of pink. then i embossed a square white card with a dotty border all over. The black & white spotty paper was in my stash from a goody bag swap on DC and i used a hole punch to make the hoes round the edge, and stuck pink paper underneath to show through the holes. The sentiment is a rubber stamp i got from Pink Gem, it had a candle in the middle, but i masked it off as i only wanted the wording round the edge, i coloured the sentiment card to match the bear. I then used different textures of black card to cut different sized circles and black & white sequins dotted around the card to decorate.

Hello fellow bloggers, hope you are all doing well today. I had a lovely surprise earlier, hubby brought a huge jiffy bag upstairs to me and wondered what craft stuff i had ordered now. Well i haven't ordered anything lately so i was a bit stumped as to what it could be. On opening the bag i found a X-Cut Super Trimmer and a letter from DoCrafts magazine saying i had won one of their free giveaways :D well i am totally shocked as this is the 2nd time i have won one of their prizes like this, and i don't normally win much of anything, so a very happy me today.
Onto the other topic of my title, my furbabies. I'm sure most of you know already that we are owned by 2 rescue Staffordshire Bull Terriers. Byron has been with us since September 2008 and we estimate he is around 3 1/2yrs old, he is such a sweetie and loves nothing more than chasing a ball or relaxing. Lilli is out little fiery redhead and she will be 2 on April 28th. Lilli was born in a rescue centre close to me and me & hubs try to do as much fundraising as we can for the rescue, were it not for the wonderful Chris who owns the rescue our little Lilli wouldn't be here today, neither would hundreds of other unwanted or mistreated Stafford's. If any of you would like to read about the wonderful work that Chris does or have a look at her rescue, please visit the website www.sbtrescue.co.uk
So getting back to my furbabies. They were sharing the sofa with hubs earlier and he whispered that there was an ideal photo opportunity. So i gently stood up and wandered over, camera in hand, and snapped this gorgeous photo.
This to me a a very special photo, as normally Byron doesn't like to cuddle up to Lilli so this was a very rare snuggle.

I am just loving these CAS cards more and more, and i want to try doing some Christmas ones soon.
I started off by embossing the bottom of my card with a little embossing strip, I've no idea what its called, but its so pretty. then i sat for ages deciding what colour i wanted to use, i just knew i wanted some colour other than black, and eventually decided on purple.
The big sentiment is from a Daisy & Dandelion stamp set, as is the little butterfly. I used teeny tiny purple gems to be the berries/flowers on the embossed twigs and clear gems on the butterfly and the dots on the 'i's.
Simple but pretty i think

Nope its not a plank of wood, its the challenge at Craft Your Passion and you can find it here .
OK so we have 2 figures, they are the freebie Molly Bloom's stamps from a mag, 2 lots of 2 buttons in opposite corners, from my stash, and threaded with thin string, and 4 balloons (2x2 is 4 :D ) with strings attatched.
I coloured the figures, balloons and the shape behind the figures with pro markers and highlighted with a white gel pen, and used backing paper from my stash.
I hpe you like it, i think its fun

This card is not my usual type of card, but i thought I'd have a go at using some of my 3d flowers. I usually only use flat paper flowers and have been a bit worried about using anything different.
I coloured the gorgeous little Tilda with pro markers, and im very pleased with how she turned out. I think i'm finally getting to grips with shading and stuff.
I covered a square card with checked paper from my stash and added faux stitching round the outside. Tilda is standing in front of a piece of brown card with a musicscore all over it that i rescued from a christmas card before it was thrown away. I used a punch with swirls and flowers to go all around the outside of the piece of card.
I then drew 2 big swirls freehand onto some beige paper, cut them out and stuck onto the card meeting in the top corner and added little beige pearls to the ends of the swirls.
Now the flowers are some ive had for years and some i picked up from a little art shop in London when i was there the other week. I used 3 big red & pale yellow flowers, 1 off white rosebud,3 tiny pale yellow rosebuds and 2 dark orange/brown rosebuds. i stuck them all down with tacky glue. i also added 3 of the little swirls that came from the card when i used the punch, and turned them over so the white side is showing.
The sentiment is using those little £shop alphabet stamps again and i tore the edges of a piece of white card, coloured it with ivory pro marker and edged with satin pro marker.
I used dark red ink pad and decorated the tag with some more of the pieces from the stamp off cuts and a couple of flat backed beige pearls.
I am really quite happy with this card as its always nice to try something new.

I wanted to do something nice for you all, so thought i would give you some more freebie sentiment circles/ovals. I hope to try and do something a bit different in the next few weeks, but it will depend on how good it turns out.

Here at DZ Doodles its a sketch challenge this week and there is a lovely freebie digi to use.
I started off with a large pale yellow card and feintly sketched pale green swirls all over, highlighted them with pale blue & pink pencils and dotted clear glitter glue here and there.
The image is coloured with pro markers, i printed it twice and decoupaged the flowers and bird. i edged the card with pastel blue pro markers and mounted it onto a mottled pale pink paper.
I cut a rectangle from plain blue paper and mounted onto the same pink mottled paper. The sentiment is made using SeeD's Whimsey stamps for the H & B and a little set on small alphabet stamps i picked up in a £ store. I edged the sentiment card with pastel green pro marker.
The image, blue rectangle and sentiment were mounted using foam pads.

Thats the name of the challenge this week here at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge.
I had a lovely digi of a tall flower and coloured it with pro markers. i covered a dl card with bright pink paper and added a panel of black linen effect card. I stuck the flower flat onto the black panel. I found matching coloured buttons in 2 different sizes in my stash and stuck them into opposite corners and added clear gems to the top and bottom and clear glitter glue to the centre of the flower.

The Less Is More Week 9 challenge is 'A Touch Of Red' . I am really enjoying making these CAS cards, much more than i thought i would.
This really was a simple card to make. I used a small square white card and stuck thin black ribbon across it about 3cm from the bottom. The flower is made of 3 flat red silk flowers, slightly curled, and a white brad. The sentiment is a magazine freebie stamp and stamped directly onto the card.
Very simple, but i really like this card.
Kate xxx
It Digi Doodles 1st birthday, so their challenge this week is 'Happy Birthday'. You can find their challenge here and their shop here .
I used a cute Meljens digi of a mouse popping his head out of a delicious looking birthday cake. The digi was coloured with pro markers. I made an easel card from a 6x6 square card blank and used a birthday backing paper from a Dovecraft pack to cover it. I added bright colours of card candy dotted about and mounted the digi on foam pads. I added clear glitter glue to the swirls and candle sparks of the digi. the sentiment is a holografic sticker i got in a goody bag swap on DC.
Kate xxx
the challenge at Card Mad Fairy's this time is 'EASTER', you can find it here .
I decided to make hubby's Easter card for this challenge, using a digi image.
I coloured the digi with pro markers, and mounted it on foam pads. I stamped lots of different coloured eggs onto a white card using a little Dovecraft stamp from a 99p set. The sentiment i made using SeeD's Whimsy Letters stamp set. I stamped it onto yellow paper and then mounted that onto blue linen effect card.
This was a nice and easy card to make but looks lovely and bright.
Kate xxx
The challenge at Delightful Inspirations was to make a project using their freebie Watering Can digi. You can find the challenge here .
Here's my entry
I coloured the watering can and little butterfly with pro markers and mounted them onto a scalloped circle i cut from bright pink paper. This was mounted onto a bigger scalloped circle i cut from yellow paper and embossed with a dotty border embossing folder. The backing paper is from the Dovecraft Retro Floral Prints 6x6 pack. The sentiment is a peel off i coloured black. I like the way the scalloped circles overhang the edges of the card.
Kate xxx
Now you cant get any sweeter than that can you :D
The challenge at Totally Tilda this week is 'Sweet Treat for Tilda' using chocolate, cakes or confectionery. You can find more details of the challenge here .
I had a donated image of Tilda with a big wooden spoon and some donated cupcake images, so i thought they would be perfect for this challenge. I coloured then with pro markers and added a little glitter to Tilda's shoes and the little hearts on top of the cupcakes.
I made an easel card from a 6x6 square white card and covered it with a blue spotty paper, and mounted Tilda and the cupcakes using different thickness's of foam pads. I made the little hearts by drawing round a heart button i had, coloured with pro markers and glittered. then i added 2 more layers of white card to the bottom to make them thicker. I also made the banner and stamped the sentiment, which was a little freebie on a mag.
I really like this card, and i hope that my colouring and blending is getting better.
