Who Said Three's A Crowd............

is the challenge over at http://stamptacularsundaychallenge.blogspot.com/2011/01/challenge-95-who-said-threes-crowd.html . You had to use 3 papers, 3 ribbons & 3 flowers, so this is my entry

I used a set of co-ordinating paper i got from pondskippercrafts, which prompted me into using one of my new stamps, with the tulip on. I then had to colour in 2 of the 3 flowers i used with pro markers to match the colours, and i decided to use 3 different colours of ribbon to make little loops round the flowers. Clear gems and a simple sentiment complete the card.

Fairytale Princess

I just loved making this card, all glittery and purple. My daughter saw it and asked if it was for her, she's going to be 18!!!!! I made it for the challenge at http://ccmchallenge.blogspot.com/ . They have such cute digi's there.

I used a lilac card and some lilac & light green paper that i had stashed away, i decided I'm just going to HAVE to use all those gorgeous papers I've been keeping as they are so pretty. The digi was from Chi Chi Memories Designs and coloured with pro markers. The flags have purple glitter on and the windows and door have clear glitter glue. I made my own sentiment on the poota and backed it with some lovely textured shiny paper. The castle was backed with really thin paper. The ribbon was one i rescued from a chrimbo pressie wrapping. Down the middle of the bow i stuck a little purple flower bead and 2 pearl beads, and some more pearl beads in the 3 corners of the main image.
Hope you like it, Kate xxx

Teddy Bea

Isn't she just adorable :D If you haven't seen Teddy Bea or her boyfriend Teddy Bo then go and find them at http://www.teddybo.com/
This is my entry into the challenge at http://fairydoodler-fairydoodlersden.blogspot.com/p/fairydoodlers-friday-freebie-challenge.html this week and also for the challenge athttp://teddybochallenge.blogspot.com/ , which was 'Seeing Double', so to use two of the same thing or things.

I used some cream paper which i embossed with cute little stars using my new embossing boards i got for chrimbo, then added some brown textured card, 2 lots of some cream and gold twisted rope that was a sale bargain and 2 flowers i got from pulling a Christmas wreath to pieces. This was all finished off with 2 bits of card candy.
I cant wait to see more of the gorgeous Teddy Bo & Bea

I Just Love Tilda

After having seen so many gorgeous Tilda cards i treated myself to 2 stamps in the sales. This card i made for the challenge at http://justmagnolia.blogspot.com/2011/01/week-90-sketch-by-donalda.html , i love sketches almost as much as i love Tilda, because i don't have to think about a layout too much. I decided to do a blue Tilda as my mum loves blue and i thought i could maybe use it for mothers day.

I used some backing paper that i already had and one of my new flowery punched borders, which i put on top of some blue ribbon. Some fab card candy, a little flower and i used my new embossing boards to make the flower with the greeting inside, lots of sparkly gems, and of course pro markers ( I'm getting to grips with them now, but still have a long way to go).

Hope you like her, Kate xxx

Round & Round & Round .........

Lots of rounds on my card. Its for the challenge on http://stampfairychallenge.blogspot.com/2011/01/circles-and-more-circles.html  which was lots of circles. I made it for my little cousin Oakley who will be 7 later this year, he's a right little mischief maker and i thought the little alien looked like he could get up to some mischief too. I mainly used odd scraps of papers to make different sized circles, some card candy and some tiny circles cut with my hole punch :D. I coloured the alien with pro markers and gave him a coat of pva to make him shiny, but it doesn't show up too good in the piccy.

Hope you like him, Kate xxx

Glittery Pink

Hi everyone, hope you are all well.
Here's my 1st card for today. Its for the blog challenge on http://doyoustackup.blogspot.com/2011/01/challenge-3-pink.html . I used some bright pink swirly paper that i had and a freebie ladies shoes digi. They are very glam shoes so i decided to go all out with the glitter, and after colouring with pro markers i covered the main part with a clear glitter glue, and did highlights on the heel & sole with silver gel pen. I then cut out an extra set of the gems on the front of the shoes, coloured with silver gel pen and added bright magenta glitter to the centre. Im loving raffia at the mo and made a puffy bow with co-ordinating coloured raffia. I used a circle sentiment, coloured with pro marker and attatched with pink wire threaded with 3 light pink beads.
Its a very grown up ladies card, unusual for me to make, hope you like it, Kate xxx

Pink & Girly

Hi all, here's my creation for today, and i LOVE it. Ive made it for the challenge on http://doitwithdigis.blogspot.com/2011/01/challenge-2-pink-girly.html , which was simply to use a digi and make a card Pink & Girly.

I covered a square card with pearly light pink paper, cut a circle from a handmade textured pink paper and scalloped the edges, punched hearts round the edge for my d.i.y doily. The digi and smaller digi's are coloured with pro markers and a touch of glitter. I used a clear sparkly stick on sentiment and some mid pink raffia that I've had for ages, but never used. I then had a blank corner which i filled with a tiny feather, flower, hearts and gem.

I hope you like it as i had so much fun making it, Kate xxx

Fairy Doodler's Friday Freebie Challenge Number 3

Hi everyone, hope you are all well.
This weeks challenge at http://fairydoodler-fairydoodlersden.blogspot.com/2011/01/fairydoodlers-friday-freebie-challenge_18.html was a tricky one for me, i love the image but didn't know what to do with it, until i got the ideal backing paper in a goody bag swap. I coloured the wellies in colours to match the backing paper making them his & hers wellies. I printed off 2 copies of the image and then coloured in the gloves again and stuck them on top of the base image with little foam pads, to give a bit of dimension. I mounted the image onto black card so it stood out  a bit better, and added a ticket with peel off sentiment coloured in black.
Hope you like it, Kate xxx

Friday Sketchers Challenge '#137

This card I'm entering into the http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/2011/01/sketch-137-sponsored-by-tickled-pink.html . I loved making this card, which surprised me as its very unlike me to go so overboard with embellies, and make an elaborate card.

I love having a sketch to work from, as sometimes i just sit & stare at a piece of card, not knowing where to start, so a great sketch was a brilliant help.
I ued plain lilac card as a background, a piece of patterned flowery/leafy paper and embossed flowers onto a piece of green card. Stuck some flowers of different sizes and colours on and used coloured gems for their centres, a piece of dark purple ribbon, and a small sentiment.

Hope you like it, Kate xxx

Sunday Challenge #94

This card i have made to enter the http://stamptacularsundaychallenge.blogspot.com/2011/01/challenge-94-anything-but-square.html . As I'm quite new to challenges, blogging and anything but oblong cards it took me a while to think what to do.

I love the cute little Forever Friends bears and decided to use a gorgeous one holding a big bunch of flowers. As soon as I'd decided on the stamp the colours pink & green kinda came naturally to me. I used a small flower punch to punch out a few flowers from the pink card, so the green glittery card showed through underneath, then used to punched out flowers to decorate along the green glitter card. I added some green glittery flowers to the corner to give a bit of sparkle and added pink & green gems to the stamped image card.

I hope you like it, Kate xxx

Red Tilda & My Favourite Things

Hi all, hope you are all well.

This is my new card, and i loved making it. I'm falling more and more for the gorgeous Tilda and love red, well it is Arsenals colour. So making this was a delight. I'm entering it for 2 blog challenges, http://makeitcolourful.com/challenges/challenge-2-colour-with-red-2  and http://justmagnolia.blogspot.com/ , as well as the Tilda challenge on DC forum.

For the Make It Colourful Challenge#2, something had to be coloured in red, not just coloured red. I used my pro markers R565 & R665 to colour Tilda's dress and stripey socks.

For the Just Magnolia and Hanglar & Stanglar Challenge#89 it was to feature a Magnolia or Hanglar & Stanglar image and to use your favourite things. At the moment my favourite things are my pro markers, ribbons and of course the beautiful Tilda.

I hope you all like it, Kate xxx

Fairy Doodler's Friday Freebie Challenge Number 2

Hi all, hope you are all well.

Below is my entry for this weeks Fairy Doodler's Friday Freebie Challenge.

I just love this digi, as I'm always struggling to make cards for teenage boys. There seem to be loads of different images you can use for girls, but not boys.
I covered a square card with red mulberry paper, and backed the image circle with a grey/blue card, coloured the image in with pro markers, stamped a greeting and added some co-ordinating coloured buttons. This digi came at just the right time as its my son Thommas' birthday on Saturday and this card is for him from my daughter. hope you like it.

Off now to see if The Arsenal can win this match in the 2nd half
Take care, Kate xxx

A Couple More Cards

I don't know, i don't post for days and then 3 all in one day :D

These 2 cards were made for challenges on DC.

This one was for a layout, i love layout's as I'm often stuck for ideas and find if i have a plan to follow i get on so much better. I used on of my new stamps that i got from Pink Gem Designs in their sale, some pink card with stars on which was from an old recycled card, lemon card stock, pink mulberry paper, some spotty pink ribbon from my ever growing stack, little heart gems and the greeting and present were silver so i coloured them with permanent marker. The little girl was coloured with pro markers and i glittered her hairband and the main heart on her dress. I have a little cousin who will be 11 in May so will probably send this to her as she's a very girly girl.

This one was for a Penny Black challenge, where the challenge was to doodle in some way on your card. I wanted to go big and bright, and i think the backing paper fits nicely with the flowers on the stamped image. I just love these little hedgepigs. Again i used pro markers (I'm loving these too) to colour the image in, paper flowers that I've had for ages and gems. The doodling is the black border round the main image and the swirly greeting.

I hope you will leave me some coments let me know what you think

Happy Crafting, Kate xxx

Crafty Calendar Challenge#16

The theme for this challenge was 'New Beginings' and as i don't know anyone who's pregnant, moving house or getting married, i thought i would do a 'New Job' card as I'm hoping that when Ashleigh finishes her ALevels in the summer she will be getting a job.
I used a freebie Digi champagne bottle, pro markers to colour it in & stamped the words and stars, stamped the card over and over with gold 'Congratulations' added a big gold bow & ribbon ( think it was off a bottle of bubble bath) and glitter round the bubbles.

Hope you like it, Kate xxx

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge#93

Hope you are all well, its been a few days since I've blogged, but I've been having tinternet probs, keep getting cut off and then back on again, its really been annoying. Seems OK so far today though.

The card below is my entry for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge#93. The challenge was a layout and a stamp, so i thought i would make a pretty girly card using the freebie cupcake stamp from DC mag.
As i have just got loads of ribbons and am gradually falling for them more and more i thought i had better start trying to use some on my cards. I had some lovely cake & teatime backing paper and used some bright pink and aqua coloured card to match with the colours on the backing paper. Although you cant tell in the photo, the whole topper is raised from the card with sticky pads.

Hope you like it, will be back to post more cards I've made recently soon, Kate xxx

Fairy Doodler's Friday Freebie Challenge

Hi all, hope everyone is OK.
Well as I'm quite new to blog land I've been looking around and have found lots of challenges I'm hoping to take part in. My 1st entry is for fairy Doodler's Friday Freebie Challenge. As soon as i saw the free digi i knew exactly which paper i would use with it. I thought it would be ideal for valentines day or an anniversary card.

I'm off now to have a look round blog land and find some other great challenges.

Take care, Kate xxx

Peace & Quiet

Yes that's right, my kids have gone back to school today, well i say kids they are 17 & 14 (15 in 10 days). How they can moan that they are bored just after Christmas I'll never know.
We are off out soon to take my mum to stay with her friend who lives in Spalding, she has a shoulder replacement about 4wks before Christmas and then 4 days ago broke her opposite shoulder blade, so mum is going to stay to help her out. It also means that i will be passing very close to my nearest Paper Mill, so might have to twist hubby's arm to take me, just to look you understand.

I finished off a Tilda card for a challenge on DC last night, she is for my hubby for valentines day. We had to use a Tilda of course and something new. I did treat myself to my 1st 2 Tilda stamps in the sales but didn't use either for this card, i use an image given to me by a lovely person on DC, so she was new to me. My own new bits were the roses and glitter glue, and this is only my 2nd attempt at an easel card, so I'm very pleased with it. What do you think?

I didn't want to go too over the top with embellies as its for hubs and i don't think men like all the fluffy, glittery stuff as much as us girls do.

Hope you all have a lovely day and happy crafting, Kate xxx

Some Recent Cards

Hi everyone, hope you are all keeping well, its freezing cold here today, and I've started with the sniffles again :(
Well me & mum finished putting all the Christmas things away today and got all my collectables back into the cabinet, changed the living room around, and got everything neat and tidy again.
I did manage to make a few cards yesterday, and thought i would let you all see them. They are for different challenges on DC.

This one is for a recycled Christmas card challenge. I cut the lovely embossed white snowflakes from the front of a card, and the red paper ones from the inside. The greeting went all the way around the outside edge of the original card.

This one is for a colour challenge. the main colour had to be grey and embellished with any other colours beginning with G so i used gold card, stars & greeting.

This card wasn't for a challenge, it was a thank you card for my daughter's bf parents for their lovely presents and boxing day supper.

This card is for a challenge that i was picked to host this time around, the digi challenge. I designed they layout and the specifications are bright colours & an animal digi. My card is for my cousin Kim's little boy Aston who will b2 2 in June.

My final card is also not a challenge card, but a thank you card to a friend of my daughter's who brought us all Christmas pressies.

I am hoping to get back into my cupboard this evening to make some more cards for some other challenges.

Happy Crafting, Kate xxx

Its Been A Busy Few Days

What with all the Christmas goings-on, a wonderful New Years Eve party and getting all the Christmas decs down and the house back to normal, today is the 1st day I've been able to craft since just before Christmas.
I hope you all had a lovely New Years Eve and wish you all the best for 2011.

Ive made a card to enter my 1st ever blog challenge on A Gem Of A Challenge. They had a layout to follow and as i am a bit fed up of all the Christmas colours i decided to go all soft and girly with my colours. I also tried to go a bit more OTT than i normally do as i want to start making my cards using a bit more embellishment like flowers and ribbons. I hope you all like it.

I have made more cards today for other challenges on DC and will post them tomorrow.

Happy Crafting, Kate xxx
