A few weeks ago I applied to be on a design team, and was accepted and I've been gagging to tell you all ever since I found out but I had to keep it a secret until now. I am so pleased to be able to tell you that I am now a DT member for Stamping Dragon.
Janette has beautiful digi images available at the shop
and the challenge blog is here
there is also a facebook page and a CDAC page too

So what was my first project on the DT, well this week the theme for the challenge is
FRAMES
and this is what I created
I used the ever-so-cute Jiggy Framed digi. I printed him off twice and coloured him with pro markers before cutting the background away from one of the digi images. I covered a card with a green, white and red paper to match with the colours of the image and mounted the full digi onto the paper. For the background I wanted to make it textured so I covered it in a cheap glitter glue, which isn't so much sparkly as it is bumpy when it dries out. Once dried I added splashes of red, green, rust and dark blue by lightly dabbing small ink pads onto the rough surface and then when the inks were dry I coloured the whole background with a dark grey pro marker, I love the contrast between the background and Jiggy. I added some swirls with my new black stickles ( i am loving this stuff and collecting lots of colours). Next I cut some real thin pieces of foam pads and stuck them all round the edges of the framed digi and mounted the top digi onto them, you can't tell in the photo but the upper digi stands about 3mm proud the bottom layer. I also edged Jiggy's wings with the black stickles.
Now my cousins little boy Aston loved the box I made him for Christmas with Jiggy on the front and chocolate coins inside, so even though his birthday isn't until June I decided this would be his 3rd birthday card. I cut his name and the number 3 from the same backing paper as I used on the card, edged the letters with black ink pad, stuck them to the frame using dst and covered them in glossy accents to make them stand out more. As Aston will be 3 I added 3 small red buttons, threaded with black & white bakers twine, to the top corner.
So that's it for my first make for the Stamping Dragon Challenge Blog and I hope you all like it. Please come by and join our challenge this week, I cant wait to see what you create using the FRAMES theme.
Happy Crafting
