Have A Fishy Birthday

Happy Friday Bloggers
and its another challenge at Stamping With The Dragon today.
Here's my creation for this weeks challenge

This cute fellow is called 'Rupert Goes Fishing Take 1' and he can be found in the Stamping Dragon Designs Store.
I made this card for my cousin who was 18 on Tuesday and is fishing mad. Rupert is coloured with pro markers and mounted using foam pads. The backing paper is from my stash, sorry I don't know what the make is and I used the same paper turned on its side and matted onto dark blue card for the numbers to hang from. I cut the numbers free hand from the same dark blue card, edged them with a green metallic marker and hung them from twine so they swung about as if on the end of a fishing line. I added 3 buttons, 2 brown and one green, to add a final bit of detail.
I have been told that my cousin loved this card and the one I made for my mum to give to him, also fishing themed (see my previous post) and has said he is going to keep them.

I hope you will come along and join our challenge this week and for a bit more inspiration visit the Stamping Dragon Challenge Blog to see the wonderful creations from the other DT members.

Thank you and Happy Crafting

All Googley Eyed

Hello again fellow bloggers, my im blogging more and more these days, and enjoying it :0)
Today is week 13 at Just Inspirational Challenges and the challenge this week is sponsored by the fabby

Here is this weeks inspirational photo

What a simple, but stunning photo, i love this and its sooooooo easy to get inspiration from as its got all those yummy colours.
So what did i create for this weeks challenge?

ta-daaaaaa :0) i think i used every colour in the photo on this card, which i gave to my son for his birthday on the 15th. The image is coloured with pro markers, mounted on foam pads and stuck onto an offcut of paper i had ( i keep all my little offcuts of paper as they are always handy) then googley eyes added. I love the way the eyes are too big to fit inside the outline for their heads, makes them look even funnier. The backing paper was from my stash, but i think it was from a paper stack that was a magazine freebie, i might be wrong. Lots of card candi, infact 16 bits as it was my sons 16th birthday. The greeting is a clear stamp i picked up for 99p at the NEC last year, coloured with pro markers and then pearl drops on the spots, and coated all over the letters with glossy accents so it stood out.
I was really happy with this card, and i shall be keeping it once my son decides he doesnt want it anymore.

So i hope many of you will decide to join us in the challenge this week, as its real easy and you could win some fab digi images from Stitchy Bear.I look forward to seeing your creations.

A Couple Of New Cards

Hello fellow bloggers, and how are we all today? Good I hope.
I want to share 2 cards with you today that I've made over the past couple of days for specific things.
The 1st card is one my mum asked me to make for her to give to my cousin on his 18th birthday.

He is mad on fishing, so after having a little dig around my crafty stuff I found these cute embellies. The paper is one I had in my ever growing stash, and I'm loving dots at the moment, so decided to go with a brown & turquoise theme.
I covered a card with brown card and cut the dotty paper smaller as I wanted a nice border. The brown card as well as the turquoise I used in the corner were in a lucky dip bag I got from The Papermill when my local store was closing, such a shame to lose that brilliant outlet as buying online doesn't hold the same thrill for me when paper shopping :0)
So back to the card, after mounting the card, paper and card square, I used extra tacky glue to the embellies to make sure they didn't start to fall off as they are 3d front and back so I wanted them to have a good amount of stick. My mum and me then decided it would look better to have the word 'eighteen' rather than the numerals, so I used the same turquoise card and a Tim Holtz alphabet die to cut the letters, and stuck them onto brown card, matted onto beige card and then stuck onto the card with foam pads.
I am quite pleased with this as I always struggle with male cards but this one worked OK.

Now onto my 2nd card. 2 of my other cousins have found out within a week of each other that they are moving, one today and one on Friday. So I needed to make 'New Home' cards, well I got this one done last night.

I didn't want to make an over complicated card, and decided to keep it clean & simple. The stamp was in a set that was free on a magazine, I believe its a polka doodles stamp set. I coloured it with pro markers keeping the colours quite pale, and cut it out with a small nestie. The words were cut from the front sheet of a paper pad, you know the little bits where it shows you what each of the papers looks like inside the pad and is usually thrown away, using a sizzex alphabet plate and my cuttlebug. They were stuck on with super sticky glue and the images was mounted with foam pads. To finish the card I added co-ordinating 4mm flat backed pearls to the bottom corners.

Green & Teal Fairy Queen

Hello again bloggers, I hope you are all well and enjoying your crafting.
Today sees another challenge at Stamping With The Dragon

and this week the challenge is sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads's

The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate and 1 winner who uses a Stamping Dragon digi will win a Guest DT spot and a Stamping Dragon image.
So here is my creation

The gorgeous image is called 'Fairy Queen' and the papers are from the 'Gentle Waves Card Making Pack', both available in the store.
I coloured the digi image with pro markers and added stickles to her shoes, waistband, hairband and wand. I decided to make an easel card and used 2 different papers from the card making pack to cover the top and the bottom. The corner swirls are cut from the same paper that covers the bottom section of the card and I used a 3rd paper to cut the flowers from. The flower middles are card candi and a little stickles rubbed over it. The sentiment is a LOTV and 2 pieces of pearly white card candi finish this card.
I really enjoyed making this one and shall be making a box to match.

I hope you will come along and join our challenge, and I look forward to looking at your makes.

Awwwwww Baby

In more ways than one is it 'awwwww baby' this week for me.
Firstly my cousin had her little baby girl, Amelia-Rose, and I cant wait to meet her, and then out week 12 challenge inspirational photo at Just Inspirational Challenges is this one

awwwwww isn't it a super-cute photo.
Our fantastic sponsors for this week are

So here's what I came up with this week

Such a cute digi from Ellephantastic, that I coloured with my pro markers, then matted onto a plain pastel green piece if card. I used a pale pink card and created a scalloped border using a set of Martha Stewart Punches that my friend brought me back from America last year. The sentiment I made on the computer and again matted onto the same pastel green card. I added a cute bit of detail with printed ribbon held in place by a white safety pin.
I really enjoyed making this card, which is unusual for me as normally I don't like colouring animals and teddy's .

I hope you will come along and join us in this challenge this week at Just Inspirational Challenges

Spring Beauty

Hello Bloggers
Its challenge time again at Stamping With The Dragon Challenge Blog and for my DT card I used the beautiful Spring Beauty digi image

I just love the simplicity of this image and I didn't want to over-do it colour wise so kept it very light and just used my pastel coloured pro markers. I cut the digi out using a scalloped circle nestie and inked the edges with a chalk ink pad so it had a softer look than using a normal ink pad. I made my own card base from white card, rounded the corners and punched little hearts from each corner. I decided to leave to card base plain white and to add some colour I cut some swirls and flourishes from assorted coloured pastel card using 3 different flourish dies, and tucked them behind the digi layer. The sentiment is a little stamp I have had for ages, sorry I cant remember what make it is and I stamped onto white card and then matted it onto a flower die cut which is pale yellow with white polka dots.

I hope you will come on over to the Stamping Dragon challenge blog and join us this week, I look forward to seeing your makes.

Just Inspirational Week 11 Challenge

Its the 11th weekly challenge at Just Inspirational Challenges this week, and we are sponsored by

and the inspirational photo is

I love all pink and blue tones in this picture, so thats what i used on my card this week

The digi is coloured with pro markers and then pale pink stickles added to the flowers. I used a scalloped oval die to cut it out and inked the edges with a dusky pink ink pad. The blue card is from my stash and i embossed it with a tiny flower embossing folder in my cuttlebug. Ive been neglecting my gorgeous little green bug for a while as he was hidden in my desk cupboard, but now he is out on display in my craft room i shall be using him a lot more.
Anyway back to the card, the glittered butterflys are a couple of die cuts i found while tidying up and they fit right in with this card and the piccy, and then i added 3 pieces of pale pink card candi to finish the card off.

I hope you will all come and join us in our challenge this week and be in with a chance of winning some great Floppy Latte digi images.

I'M SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED :0)

A few weeks ago I applied to be on a design team, and was accepted and I've been gagging to tell you all ever since I found out but I had to keep it a secret until now. I am so pleased to be able to tell you that I am now a DT member for Stamping Dragon.

Janette has beautiful digi images available at the shop
and the challenge blog is here
there is also a facebook page and a CDAC page too
http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Stampi ... 6321307202

So what was my first project on the DT, well this week the theme for the challenge is

FRAMES

and this is what I created

I used the ever-so-cute Jiggy Framed digi. I printed him off twice and coloured him with pro markers before cutting the background away from one of the digi images. I covered a card with a green, white and red paper to match with the colours of the image and mounted the full digi onto the paper. For the background I wanted to make it textured so I covered it in a cheap glitter glue, which isn't so much sparkly as it is bumpy when it dries out. Once dried I added splashes of red, green, rust and dark blue by lightly dabbing small ink pads onto the rough surface and then when the inks were dry I coloured the whole background with a dark grey pro marker, I love the contrast between the background and Jiggy. I added some swirls with  my new black stickles ( i am loving this stuff and collecting lots of colours). Next I cut some real thin pieces of foam pads and stuck them all round the edges of the framed digi and mounted the top digi onto them, you can't tell in the photo but the upper digi stands about 3mm proud the bottom layer. I also edged Jiggy's wings with the black stickles.
Now my cousins little boy Aston loved the box I made him for Christmas with Jiggy on the front and chocolate coins inside, so even though his birthday isn't until June I decided this would be his 3rd birthday card. I cut his name and the number 3 from the same backing paper as I used on the card, edged the letters with black ink pad, stuck them to the frame using dst and covered them in glossy accents to make them stand out more. As Aston will be 3 I added 3 small red buttons, threaded with black & white bakers twine, to the top corner.
So that's it for my first make for the Stamping Dragon Challenge Blog and I hope you all like it. Please come by and join our challenge this week, I cant wait to see what you create using the FRAMES theme.

Just Inspirational Challenges 10th Challenge

Good Morning fellow bloggers.
Today starts the 10th weekly challenge at Just Inspirational Challenges and this week we are sponsored by Whoopsi Daisy Designs

Here is the inspirational picture for this week

and here is my make

I just loved the colours in that photo so as well as using a fairy I just had to use black, purples and white/silvers too. The digi is coloured with pro markers, and stickles for her wings and the bubbles. I cut her out using an oval die but didn't want to emboss the edge as I edged the oval with stickles and stuck it to a black & grey swirly paper from my stash. I used various shades and sizes of black and purple paper flowers, with pearls for the centres. I made the twirly bits with black raffia and wound it round a pencil before splitting into thinner pieces and sticking behind the flowers. In the top corner I added 3 clear dew drops to match the bubbles the fairy is blowing.

I hope you will join us in our challenge this week and I cant wait to take a peek at your creations.
