Fan-Tastic

Hi Bloggers

Its time for another challenge at

Just Inspirational Challenges

and this week we are sponsored by

and the inspirational photo this week is so typically English

I love it, the old red phone box, London bus, Big Ben and rain lol

This week as I made my card I decided it would be a good idea to do a little tutorial on using up scraps of paper. If any of you are like me, and I suspect most crafters are, I hate to throw away even the smallest bits of pretty paper, so I have a big box of all my oddments, which are perfect for what I did for this challenge.

1. I coloured my image and covered the card with my chosen backing paper, then got around 6 or 7 different scraps of paper in co-ordinating colours.

2. I decided on where I wanted my image to go, but didn't stick it down, so I would know what space I had left to fill.

3. I chose 4 pieces of scrap paper that were long enough to go across the card,

4. and cut them into 4 strips ranging from 30mm to 10mm thick.

5. I added the biggest strip 20mm from the bottom of the card and once stuck cut off the excess,

6. then added the remaining strips, always cutting off the excess after each strip was added. This makes a neater edge than trying to cut off all the excess edges at the same time.

7. Next I decided I wanted to add bunting to the top of my card, so I cut myself a template from scrap card,

8. and drew round the template onto 6 different scraps and made my flags.

9. Next I stuck 3 little pieces of extra strong dst along the top edge of my card to hold the bunting string in place.

10. Using some bakers twine I knotted both ends and the middle and stuck the knots on with the dst.

11. Hook the flags over the twine till you get them in the position you want,

12. then stick the 2 sides together with dst. You can secure the flags to the twine with dst if you don't want them to move about.

13. Finally stick your image, over the top of the bunting and paper strips, with foam pads. I cut small triangles from the scrap paper, drew a bunting string on the envelope and stuck the triangle 'flags' on the line. I also used 2 more pieces of scrap paper to mount the peel off greeting onto on the card.

I hope you find the tutorial of some use, and that you will join us in this weeks challenge.

Anything Goes

Don't you just love 'Anything Goes' challenges :)

That's the challenge this week at

and our wonderful sponsors this week are

and

and here is what I made this week

I am just loving Saturated Canary images right now and this one is such fun.
I coloured her with my trusty promarkers and matted her onto some bright orange textured paper from my scrap paper box. The 2 backing papers are from my stash, I think they were from a stack that was a freebie with a magazine but can't be sure. I added small pieces of blue grosgrain ribbon to look like banners and stuck 3 green and 3 orange dew drops to it. The cupcake is a wooden embellishment that I coloured with pearly pink paint and finally the letters are glittery foam alphas I picked up at a craft shop near me.
I hope you like my card this week, nip along to the challenge blog and see my fellow DT makes for more inspiration, cant wait to see what you all create for this weeks challenge.

Oh Betty !!!

Two posts in one day from me, arnt you lucky :D

Actually its because we have had a bit of a change round at Just Inspirational Challenges and I am now on TEAM B and this is team B's week to do the challenge.

So here is your inspirational picture for this weeks challenge

and our fantastic sponsor this week is

I used 'Scrapbooking Betty' digi stamp and you can find her here

I loved the image so much I wanted to make something using it that I could keep in my craft room, so decided to decorate a box that I use to keep scraps of paper in for decoupatch.
I used pro markers to colour Betty, this is the first Simply Betty digi I have coloured and I am really pleased with how she turned out. I used 2 co-ordinating backing papers to cover the box lid on top and the sides and backed Betty onto black linen card.

Once she was mounted and stuck to the box lid I added glossy accents to her eyes and the small buttons along the bottom of her dress. I used a thick purple ribbon to make a bow and secured to the box lid at a slight angle and finished off with some flat backed gems scattered around the lid.

I hope you will check out Just Inspirational Challenges blog and take a peek at my fellow DT's makes this week, and I look forward to seeing your fab entries into this challenge.

Ewwww The Dreaded Male Card

Hi Blog Lovers

Its another new challenge at
today, and its a challenge a lot of us dread

Male Cards

And our fab sponsors this week are

and

I must say, not one of my fave makes as I don't seem to be able to stir up the enthusiasm to get excited about making a male card.
Still needs must as its Fathers day here in the UK on Sunday, so this card is for my dear hubby from our 2 furbabies, I shall get them to add muddy paw prints to the inside later today.

I coloured the cheeky alien digi with pro markers and decided that as I was using a square card I wanted to add something different so cut him out in a strange shape and matted him onto plain green paper. The grey swirly backing paper was from my stash and I backed this with the same green paper. I added random card candi as I didn't want any of this card to look uniform, the 'DAD' sentiment I stamped with some small wooden alphabet stamps and backed again with the green paper.

I hope you like it and will come along and join us in our
Male Card
challenge at Charisma Cardz this week.

Week 32 at Just Inspirational Challenges

Hi again bloggers
Its time for another challenge at

Just Inspirational Challenges

and this week we are sponsored by the fab

thats right the winner will get 7 fantastic Bugaboo images to play with.

This week we have 2 inspirational photos for you to chose from

I went with the top photo as I loved the frexh colours and feeling of summer

Unfortunately the colours havent photographed very well, they are brighter in real life.
Both the cute butterfly and sun & cloud are bugaboo digi's and I coloured them with pro markers, then added glossy accents to mr butterflys head & the hearts on his wings and flat backed pearls to his cheeks and wings. The backing paper is from my stash and is actaully printed with the flowers which I thought matched perfect to this scene. Under the flowers on the backing paper was a few multi coloured lines which I cut off, then I used a small bit of that paper to stamp my sentiment onto and backed with white card. I added teeny weeny , about 2mm flat backed pearls to the corners of the sentiment piece.
I like the finished card as its very fresh and cheery looking.

I hope you will check out my fellow DT's makes on the Just Inspirational Challenges blog and join us in this weeks challenge.
