Shabby Chic At Charisma Cardz

Hi Bloggers
Today is the 2nd challenge I've been part of for Charisma Cardz Challenges and the theme this week is

SHABBY CHIC

Not something I am totally comfortable with but I gave it my best shot.
The sponsors this week are

and

This is my take on shabby chic

I made this to go in with a parcel of goodies I was sending to a friend in a Smash* Stash Swap and i was really happy with the way it turned out, especially because I hand stitched all the stitching as when I went to use my little craft sewing machine I broke the one and only needle I had for it :( so now I have to buy another and try again.

I do hope that you will come and join us this week in our challenge at Charisma Cardz and if you needed any further push to join in the wonderful Bunny Zoe's are offering everyone who takes part this week a 10% discount on your order

So come join us, get 10% off your Bunny Zoe's order and be in with a chance of winning one of our 2 prizes this week.

I Have News :0)

Good Morning fellow bloggers
I do hope you are all well and enjoying your crafting.
I have been having a bit of an argument with mr.mojo, he decided to take another holiday!!! So there was me mooching around not doing much when I got a message from my friend Carlyann and she asked me if I would like to join her DT on Charisma Cardz Challenges !!! blog :0)
Well i thought about it for all of 0.02 secs and jumped at the chance, mr.mojo had no choice now but to get his butt back to work.
I am on Team Carly and the challenge for this week is

CHIPBOARD

and the challenge is sponsored by

Simon Says Stamp
Photobucket

Who are offering one lucky winner a $20 voucher to their online shop!! Wow!

Simon Says Stamp has over 100,000 items in stock. They have all of the latest releases from Magnolia, Whiff of Joy, Tim Holtz, Spellbinders, Copic and so much more! With great deals on shipping, it’s a great time to shop with Simon Says Stamp.

Pink Cat Studio

Who are offering one lucky winner 5 digi's of their choice!

and it just so happened that I had a project I had been wanting to get done since valentines day and it fit perfect with this challenge.

I started with a deep frame I had brought a few years ago and never used, and a chipboard man and woman figures I brought from a friend on facebook

I brought a packet of red & gold decoupatch paper, I wanted this to tie in with the colour of our bedroom. I didn't buy the special decoupatch glue and used a mix of normal child's pva and water. I tore the paper into little odd shaped bits and started covering the chipboard people.

Once I had covered all the pieces with 2 layers of paper and left them to dry I then added a coat of pva glue to act as a varnish and give a shiny finish.

After i had covered the figures I started on the wooden frame, doing exactly the same as I had to the chipboard figures.

While the pva was drying I made my own glimmer mist by mixing gold power paint, a drop of pva glue and water in a little spritz bottle,

and covered an a4 sheet of cream card with the spritzed mist, i wanted quite big 'blobs' so sprayed quite close to the card.

I left the spritzed card to dry overnight and then mounted it onto another sheet of card, slightly bigger so it would fit in the slot on the wooden frame, and stuck the figures to the spritzed card using foam pads.

The last step was to slot the finished card into the slot on the frame, attach the back and polish the glass.

Taa- Daa all finished

I am really happy with this as it was my first attempt at decoupatch and it looks great on our bedroom wall.

I hope my friends, that you will pop along to Charisma Cardz Challenges, take a peek at the other fab DT makes and join us in the challenge.

Week 22 at Just Inspirational Challenges

Hi Bloggers

Firstly I want to say a big sorry for not being around much lately, my mojo did a runner again and I just had nothing to show you, but that's all changed now Mr mojo is back and fingers crossed is staying put for a while :0)

So its Week 22 at Just inspirational Challenges this week which means its Team A's turn and I was sooooooooooooooooooo happy when I saw our fantastic sponsor for this challenge

I adore Krista's images and couldn't wait to get started on this weeks project. The inspirational photo this week is

gorgeous spring piccy and lots of colours for you to make you creation and be in with a chance of winning 2 Saturated Canary images.
Here is what I came up with

I used the fabby 'Party Hardy' digi and coloured her with pro markers before cutting her out with a nestie. I found some real pretty blue paper which has glitter embedded into the actual paper, not on top so it doesn't shed or feel bumpy, and cut a piece the same size and shape as the image and stuck it behind the image at an angle. The spotty backing paper is actually from a Christmas stack but I thought the colours and dots fitted perfect with the image. To add some texture I found some oddments of green ribbon in 2 different shades, stitched along the middle in a different colour thread and ruched them up slightly, sticking down with extra tacky dst so they have no chance of falling off :0) I used more of the lighter green ribbon, gathered up, behind the sentiment which is a LOTV clear circle stamp. The little cupcake on the ribbon end is a wooden embellishment and I coloured it using pearlescent and chalk ink pads.

I hope you will pop along to the Just Inspirational Challenges blog and take a look at my fellow teamies makes, visiting their blogs for more info, and join in with this great challenge.

Just Inspirational Week 20

Hi Bloggers

I cant believe its week 20 at Just Inspirational Challenges already
and this week its my team TEAM A's turn to show our makes. Head over to the blog to see what all my fellow teamies have made.
We are sponsored this week by

SEW MANY CARDS

and we had 2 inspirational photo's for this weeks challenge

and here is my make

I just had to use this scrummy digi because of the photo of all those sweet treats. The image is coloured with pro markers, and I printed off a second image so i could decoupage the cherry, heart and green sweeties on the cakes and then added glossy accents to make them pop out.
I used lots of colours as i wanted it to be a really cheerful card and the sentiment is one I made that you could only get by subscribing to our newsletter. If you would like some occasional freebie word sentiments then make sure you sign up to receive the newsletter as sometimes this will be the only way to get them.
I finished the card off with lots of colours of card candi, i love the stuff.

I hope you will join us in the challenge this week

A New Make

Hello Bloggers
Just a quick post with a card I made using one of my new purchases, a Saturated Canary digi, ohhhhhhh I love Krista's work.
So here is my make

I coloured her with pastel pro markers in green and pink shades and mounted her onto a die cut piece of paper that had the flowers already down the side, well they were at the bottom but i turned it round :0)
I used a matching backing paper and covered a 6x6 square card. Using paper of the same shades I made some mini bunting with a cute little Whimsy die cut I have and threaded it with white silk cotton. The recipe stamp is from LOTV and I used pro markers again to colour it pink to match with the colour scheme, fixed to the card with foam pads and added a flower headed hatpin for decoration. Finally some Craftwork Cards card candi in opposite corners and colours finished off my card.
I hope you like my creation and would love some comments.
